Splipharm was founded in 2005 by Mag. pharm. Christoph Splichal. The Splichal family had a long tradition in the business of medicines and pharmacy products, dating back to 1914 when Heinrich Splichal founded the first pharmacy for the Splichal family. In 1960, Ladislaus Splichal established the family’s first wholesale company.

Initially, Splipharm focused on marketing a lice treatment product from the US. Over time, the company expanded into national and international wholesaling of medicinal goods and various other pharmacy products, which eventually became its primary business.

The warehouse was located in the 18th district of Vienna, and the headquarters were moved from Klosterneuburg to Vienna in 2019.

In 2023, Splipharm and its connected partner Doropharm k.s. were sold, resulting in Splipharm now having four shareholders:

Christoph Splichal
The mastermind behind the company, Christoph Splichal, established both Splipharm and Doropharm in the early 2000s, building on his family’s pharmacy business. Under his leadership, the companies grew into successful and significant players in the international medicinal wholesale market. Although he sold the companies in 2023, Christoph remains convinced of the new group’s vision and has retained his position as a shareholder. He also continues to serve as the CEO of the group.

Raiffeisen Continuum GmbH

This company is owned by Dr. Klaus Leisser, a significant investor in the Austrian pharmacy business. Homeocur and Klaus bring valuable insider knowledge, experience, and an extensive network to the group, enhancing its capabilities and strategic direction.

S-Mgmt Investment AG
A young but already successful Swiss investment company, S-Mgmt Investment AG is led by founder Erwin Schiffner, who has long served as a financial and business counselor to Christoph Splichal. The group benefits from S-Mgmt’s expertise in keenly calculated investment strategies and analyses, which are instrumental in identifying the right partners for future endeavors
